Our submission includes some of our most exciting progress from the past year, including the launch of Cambridge’s new internal sustainability framework: a powerful tool to align organisational planning with sustainability commitments across the four pillars of People, Environment, Education and Society.
You’ll also discover the progress our Academic product group is making towards print-on-demand services and switching 70% of print journals to digital by 2030 – a topic that is closely supported by collaboration with our supply chain.
Findel
Findel is a leading education resources supplier with sustainability embedded at the heart of its strategy, operations, and culture. Holding long-standing UKAS-accredited ISO certifications, Findel has significantly accelerated its environmental commitments since 2021, setting science-based targets and delivering sector-first initiatives that continue to raise the bar.
The business has achieved substantial reductions in its Scope 1 and 2 emissions through a range of smart interventions including energy-saving technologies, waste automation, and ongoing investment in packaging innovation, such as custom-sized boxes and the removal of hot-melt adhesives to support recyclability.
Findel partners with best-in-class organisations like DPD and Ecologi to deliver low-impact logistics and climate-positive action. It is also working with Plan A to develop a robust, data-driven understanding of Scope 3 supply chain emissions, laying the foundation for credible, long-term decarbonisation across its value chain. Following its acquisition by the Manutan Group in 2024, Findel now plays a central role in shaping and supporting group-wide ESG strategy and delivering shared objectives.

The Oxford International Curriculum for Sustainability is an uplifting year-on-year structured programme for ages 5-14. It is designed to inspire and educate about sustainable living whilst strengthening students’ connections to their local community and nature. The Oxford International Curriculum for Sustainability is a pioneering curriculum that provides educators with a thorough, interdisciplinary approach to teaching sustainability that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will empower them to drive change towards a sustainable future.
The Oxford International Curriculum for Sustainability offers:
- An interdisciplinary curriculum integrating science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM), plus English, humanities, and social science.
- Enquiry-based learning, encouraging students to make real-world connections.
- Learner-centred instruction, enabling students to take an active role in the learning process.
- A project-based learning structure, ensuring students acquire a deeper knowledge through exploration.
- Place-based learning, engaging students in their community, including their physical environment, local history, people, or culture.
- A coherent, age-appropriate curriculum.
- A strong focus on wellbeing, with dedicated wellbeing activities embedded in many lessons.
- Subscribers receive the full subject guide, schemes of work with all learning objectives, resources, and lesson plans.
Red Lester Recruitment
At Red Lester Recruitment we love supplying fantastic teachers to schools abroad, but getting them there isn’t very green. So, we committed to holding ourselves accountable for our carbon emissions and eagerly started our journey to becoming carbon neutral. We partnered with Carma Earth to offset our teachers’ travel by launching our ‘Trees for Teachers’ initiative, which helps the schools and teachers we work with do their bit to go green too.
Just by working with us, our teachers and schools are helping to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability within education. This will protect the planet for the future generations they’re teaching.
So far we’ve planted 1,264 trees globally on behalf of the education sector, which equates to 411 tCO2e removed. This achieves our initial ESG strategy well beyond our initial scope and we look forward to an even greener future next year!
